2016 Adventures – South Island

So how did this all come about? I had dreamed about doing some sort of motorbike road trip after seeing Long Way Round & Long Way Down…

The first day, it has finally arrived – how bloody exciting! Our adventure has begun…

Day two was a pretty quiet day with not a lot of riding happening.…

The beginning of the South Island adventure begins…

We arrive & are treated to the best barbecue ever thanks to our awesome friends…

After a hearty & delicious breakfast, we said farewell to our friends & rode off…

I must admit that I did find it very difficult to get off the bike…

Excitement levels rose & I had a continuous smile on my face…

Fortunately, he stopped just as the road started to curve upwards. I must admit I was kinda holding my breath…

Woo Hoo – This is awesome, we were heading directly to Bluff!…

…there was a surreal calmness; a stillness like we were the only people in the world…

We rose the next morning & enjoyed breakfast at the Cosy Kiwi B&B before heading off on the next leg…

Entering the national park gave us some beautiful climbs and our scenery changed from stunning water views to some fantastic mountains views…

We had left the best ride for last, the road into Golden Bay was so bloody fantastic…
